What Causes Little Flow Before The Due Date Of My Menstrual Cycle?
I am taking cerezette from last one month. I got my last normal periods on 30 May. I started taking pills from 4 June. I observed little flow on 19 June. However, I feel weak. I tested for pregnancy twice but it turned negative. What could be the possible cause for it?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Menstrual disturbances in the form of intermittent spotting, irregular periods, prolonged bleeding and heavy flow are some of the known side effects experienced by few while on birth control pills. Since these are hormonal preparations, it would take some time for the body to adjust to its dose. These symptoms can be considered as normal as it is seen only during the first few months (maximum of about 6 months) while taking birth control pills. You can overcome weakness by taking iron with folic acid medication along with protein rich diet. In case it doesn't normalize and continues to bother you, you may need to change the pills or mode of contraception which would suit you. Kindly seek medical attention in such a case. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
