Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Ive noticed my head shakes a little when Im sitting at my computer at work when Im really concentrating on being still or reading something on my phone, is this something I should be worried about, I just turned 50 and I work out regularly for 30-60 minutes 5-6 times per week, cardio.
Your symptoms seem like essential tremors. Essential tremor is a neurological disorder that causes involuntary and rhythmic shaking. It may affect any part of the body including head. This type of shaking may be there with simple tasks, like concentrating on computer work or reading something may make your head involuntary shaken. This shaking may be aggravated by stress, fatigue, caffeine or very cold or very hot temperatures. Any lab test or imaging is rarely required for its diagnosis. The disease does not have a cure. However, your symptoms can be minimized with some drugs like beta blocker etc. under the guidance of your doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Satnarain Bansal, General & Family Physician
