What Causes Locking And Cracking Feeling In Knee After An Arthroscopic Surgery?
I had arthroscopic surgery 6 weeks ago and thought I would be better by now. They removed shredded cartilage from the lateral side of my left knee and trimmed some of the meniscus tear on the medial side of the same knee, they experienced a lot of bleeding during the procedure. I have been doing physio faithfully and pool exercises 3 times per day for the last 2 weeks but I have less Range of Motion than prior to surgery. My knee cracks, gets stuck and gives out now- all new things it never did prior to surgery. The pain I experienced on the medial side of my knee is less but the achying is worse and now involves my sciatica so my whole leg aches and I can\t even find anything strong enough to help me sleep through the night. I ve tried Tylenol #3, then Arthrotec, mixed with Tylenol, then advil with Tylenol, and most recently over the counter muscle relaxant (Robaxacet) How can I get more mobility out of this knee and what can I take for the Ache?
As per my clinical experience, the locking and cracking in knee after complicated arthroscopic surgery do indicate internal issue of healing. Though better pain relief can be obtained with addition of analgesic as Tramadol hydrochloride or else. The main point of interest is to find out the underlying cause of agony and that can be best obtained with MRI knee. Kindly discuss the need of the MRI with your doctor during next scheduled follow up so that better guidelines can be figured out for faster recovery.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
