Hello Welcome to HCM, Thank you for posting your query, I understand your concern. Prolonged duration of menstrual bleeding of more than 7 days is menorrhagia, which depending on the circumstances can be easily controlled. Various medical conditions can cause Menorrhagia. Painful mensuration or dysmenorrhea can be primary without underlying cause or secondary to an existing condition. In your case it seems like later. But it need further history and examination to rule out a cause. I suggest you visit a Gynecologist who can advice you further. In the mean time you can take NSAIDs like mefenamic acid 50mg 3 times daily after diet along with pantoprazole 40mg once daily in morning before diet to reduce pain and discomfort. Hope this information is useful to you. Get well soon.
