Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have oval/football-shaped red marks at several places on my skin, generally 1 to 2 long. No itching or pain, but a new one seems to appear every couple of weeks or so. I noticed the first one a couple of months ago; it has substantially faded at this point.
As per your query you have long oval shaped red marks on skin with no itching or pain . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are probably due to discoid eczema . Discoid eczema is also called nummular dermatitis. There can be many reasons for discoid eczema like allergic reaction to skin due to some food , medicine or cosmetic product or insect bite . It can also occur due to fungal infection . I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may examine physically and may order skin patch test , allergy test and blood test . Doctor may prescribe anti allergic , anti bacterial , anti fungal or crticosteroid ointment . For now apply cold compresses and take benadryl twice a day .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
