What Causes Long Periods?

I've been on the Implanon since January, and I've had hellaciously long periods and a stringy black/brown discharge more recently. I recently had a lithotropsy procedure to blast out a huge kidney stone - so I'm not sure if these are related. I'm 28, 5'5" & 115lbs.

Hi,

Lithography is not likely to cause the bleeding. It seems to be side effect of hormone inbuilt in Implanon. You should take rest, also take over the counter cap. CVP gynae capsules 2 caps three times a day after food&tapper it off after bleeding stops. In case there is no relief, you need gynecologist's consultation for further assessment / removal of Implanon if needful.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
