Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

This suggest an acute gastroenteritis. Mostly these are viral, and need only prevention of dehydration with frequent sips of ORS. Giving zinc and probiotics will hasten recovery. Need to consult a pediatrician only if this persists beyond 5 days, stool become blood stained, he becomes febrile or lethargic and not feeding. Otherwise, we need not worry.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
