Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 50 years old i have been having unformed stools for many years recently i have been having very loose stools once or twice a day .i have been having an uncomfortable pricking pain around my liver that comes and goes .i have also a pain under the soles of my feet especially in the morning
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Unformed stool for years and now the loose stools once or twice a day should have been investigated long ago. I would advise you the following: Consult a Gastroenterologist for clinical evaluation, examination and investigations as follows: Tests of stool on three consecutive days. Tests of blood for CBC, thyroid and liver functions. CT scan of abdomen. Colonoscopy. These will get a diagnosis in most of the times or will need more evaluation. Also identify the instigating or enhancing factors like foods, beverages, stress and anxiety and so on. Once found you have to avoid all such factors. There can be an intolerance to certain foods and may need tests. The pain in the sole of feet particularly in the morning is suggestive of fascitis and may need further evaluation to get an exact cause thus giving a plan of management. Soaking the feet in super saturated saline solution for reducing edema and pain.
