What Causes Loss Of Appetite In A Breast Fed Infant?

Hello doctor ,my 5 months old is exclusively breast feed.since 15 days he is nursing really less and has not gain any weight since 1 month .he only feed while he is sleeping and never interested in feed .he nurse only for few minutes and then it s really difficult to latch him again.if I tries for feed on demand he goes more then 5 hours without feed and still not interested .he is 18 lbs and seem happy and satisfied .i am scared that this can effect my supply as I want to nurse him long and also his constant weight is a concern.kindly help .

If you are noticing a decrease in intake then it may be best to have him assessed to make sure that he is well and there are no problems causing his reduced feeding.

You can use a breast pump to help keep your milk supply going. This would keep milk production high.
