What Causes Loss Of Hearing And Tingling Sensation In The Fingers While Running?

I ran/walked a 5k this morning at 8:00am. While running, this happens often, I start to lose my hearing and my fingers tingle. This time I also had a huge headache, and still do 10 hours later. It was VERY hot outside, close to 85 by the end and the high today was 98 with a heat index of 104. Should I be concerned that I still have this headache? The swelling and hearing came back within a couple of minutes of stopping and the swelling in my fingers went down within an hour. Thank you.

Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.

This is very unusual presentation and needs a careful evaluation and investigations of the symptoms you have talked about.
Noted you history of loosing hearing, swelling and tingling of the fingers and headache.
This is a serious matter.
The probable causes are:
Sympathetic over-activity.
May be some neck- cervical problems
Hemodynamic instability and so on.
I would advise you to get the following done:
- Clinical evaluation and examination and the investigations.
- Cardiac checkup
MRI of the brain, neck and angiography of the arteries thereupon.
Anything else as suggested by the investigations and proper treatment.
Till you are diagnosed do not do so long stretches of running and never do it alone.
