General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history of having perforated your ear a week back and got reduced hearing and wants to know up to what time the hearing will be normal.
To know the exact damage and its consequences you need to get the following done to know the prognosis.
Consult an ENT Surgeon for Endoscopy of ears, nose and throat.
Audiometry.
Any other investigations as would be suggested.
This will give the exact cause of reduced hearing like just perforation of tympanic membrane.,
Or trauma and disruption to the chain of small bones.
Or even further.
All this will give the best diagnosis, plan for further management whether conservative with medicines or will this need corrective surgery.
And the probability of regaining hearing.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
