Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Loss Of Hearing In The Right Ear Upon Waking Up?
When I was a child I had tubes put in my ear(s). I am not sure which as I was adopted and I recently came into this information. I am currently 24 years old. For the last few weeks every morning when I wake up I cannot hear out of my left ear. I peroxide my ear and it ends up bubbling out of my ear, it burns and stings, and the wax is dark orange/amber with black spots, and thick. I was wondering if there is anything I should worry about. Thank you for your time.
Cannot say in your particular case without like, looking in the ear...... but bleach is not a good think to put in the ear (peroxide is quite similar). There are very dilute peroxide solutions specifically designed for the ear that do NOT cause burning and stinging. Clogging on one side is from drainage which might not be much draining and might not be that far from normal. Could be an infection, could be wax or a bit of fluid from all the irritation (like seepage from a wound) or even a very small amount of blood. Big infections of the ear cause pain. Small ones probably would too, so if an ear infection it is doubtful to be big and most commonly a viral one with clear fluid that resolves on its own and treatment does not help.
Decongestants over the counter and ear wax treatments over the counter can be helpful.
