What Causes Loss Of Libido?

m a female. I m 18. I don t feel any pleasure when I have sex. And no, like most of you respond.. it s not because i m not aroused, it s not emotional. I can get very turned on, I ve been with my fiance for 3 years. And have had quite a few sexual partners before him. I ve had and done everything you can think of sexually. AND YES it turns me on. Just.. I don t feel anything when I actually start having sex and am already aroused. I ve been like this for 4 years now. It s not emotional. I don t need to try foreplay, or different positions, or fantasize.. because I ve already done all of that. NOTHING. I don t get it.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Disinterest in sex or loss of libido commonly occurs due to depression, anxiety, stress(physical & emotional), low self-esteem, hormonal problems, chronic illness, relationship problems.

You are suggested to get clinically examined for hormonal imbalance, PCOS, thyroid issues, anemia or any other pathological problems causing such discomforts.

Get detected, get treated at the earliest. Relationship problems may cause disinterest & loss of libido like harsh arguments, traumas (physical & emotional), lack of appreciation for one another, infidelity, growing apart, boredom, lack of love & romance.

Take the help of a Counselor & if required a Psychiatrist. Since you are very young, get treated before the symptoms get worse.

Take adequate sleep, stay away from addictions, eat healthy nutritious homemade food. Come out of monotony. Enjoy life with your fiance.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
