What Causes Loss Of Motor Skills In The Arms And Legs While Driving?

What would cause a healthy 34 year old female to suddenly lose both motor skills in her arms and legs while driving? This has happened twice now about 1 - 1 1/2 month apart each episode? All blood/lab work has come back showing nothing. Should an MRI be asked to be given for further diagnosis?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Yours is a postural transient loss of consciousness specifically during a particular activity. Also called Anoxic Seizures. Although you have to undergo an EEG test to differentiate from absence seizures. A functional MRI may help you in diagnosis of some transient loss of blood supply to the brain and other associated causes. I will highly advise you for both these tests and revert back.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
