Hello, this evening i made gravey over buiscuits for the family and i couldnt even eat the first bite was horrid it tasted as if i just threw up or alcohol or something everyone else enjoyed i then tried some choclate just to test if i get the same flavor and it tasted normal i dont understand what this could be? Anyone know anything?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of loss of sensitivity to taste which could be due side effects of certain medicines such as Topiramate, sinusitis , oral infection or nerve dysfunction like glossopharyngeal. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit neurologist once and take medications which lower down autoimmune or nervous system disorder. Doctor may prescribe anti inflammatory to reduce inflammation in nerve . Give them diet rich in zinc supplements as that will recover there taste. Maintain a proper dental hygiene to prevent gingivitis or stomatitis. Avoid smoking if you are habitual. I would advice use of oral corticosteroids as well because if its due to any allergy it will resume back taste. If condition doesn't get well then consult dentist for dental infection and oral prophylaxis .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
