What Causes Loss Of Skin Elasticity In The Arms?

I have very noticaible loss of skin elasticity in both arms just in the last month that I have been doing more bike training. I wonder if I could be eating up muscle in training. I eat normally and feel on my 2/3 hour rides... Very loose ugly look and I still strength train with moderate weights 2x per week

Hi,

The alteration in shape is due to fat loss most probably, and not likely due to loss of muscles. The softness or elasticity in pulling skin is due to subcutaneous tissue and not due to muscle hypertrophy, and when muscles enlarge, the muscle strength and tensile strength may increase but softness can be decreased. Still using supplements for zinc, vitamin C and E can help with skin hygiene. The bike and other strengthening exercises should be under proper guidance otherwise may cause unwanted alterations in physique.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Regards,
