What Causes Loss Of Taste Post A Tonsillectomy?
Hie Dr I had tonsillectomy in June 2016 and its now 11 months after the operation but I have not fully recovered my sense of taste. I also have a continuous irritation in my throat and it feels like there is something stuck on it and I struggle to clear it away. It always look red when I check myself in the mirror. The other problem is that I experience voice loss every time I talk too much or sing. please help

A slight alteration in the taste sensation can happen after tonsillectomy. It is due irritation of taste buds and it will settle by itself.
If you experience the problem for a long duration, a complete evaluation is necessary. You can consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated to look for possible nerve injury.
