What Causes Loss Of Vision In Right Eye, Neck Stiffness And Swollen Arms And Legs?

I am 24 years old and my family doctor seems to think I have MS. My father has it but for some reason I thought it was for older people. I have had vision problems and have confirmed optic neuritis I have lost complete vision in my right eye a few times lasting anywhere from 5 min to an hour. I also have a strange feeling of my ears being plugged with a very stiff neck. I had it checked and I don t have an ear infection. My joints and muscles have been swollen in my arms and legs and I have constant cold blue coloured feet it seems I get no circulation to my feet at all. I sometimes get hot spots in my right leg that feel strange it never hurts it just feels like a patch of heat under my skin. I am in the process of a diagnoses but I am really hoping it s not MS. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the loss of vision in one eye, neck stiffness and swelling of arms and legs do indicate underlying immune related disorder which can be of multiple sclerosis or other variant.

However, a detailed clinical examination, history, lab data evaluation for presence of particular antibodies and monoclonal banding pattern of IgG and IgM would reveal more hopeful results to discuss further in greater details.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
