What Causes Loud Farting Sounds During Bowel Movement?
my husband has depression and for years when defacting he makes very loud farting sounds and I can hear from a distance that his stool is coming runny and loose. his father and mother both had cancer father had stomach cancer and mother has esophagus cancer. recently his sister had stage 3 breast cancer,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of loud farting sounds during bowel movement. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like gastroenteritis, lactose intolerance, electrolyte imbalance, food poisoning, irritable bowel syndrome and crohn's disease. Need not to worry much. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may order stool test , ultrasound , endoscopy along with that take history. Doctor may prescribe laxative , ornidazole or albendazole along with ranitidine. You should avoid food like seafood and nuts , take antacid after every meal and keep your head elevated while lying down. You should go for exercise daily and take diet rich in fibers. Also drink plenty of warm water throughout the day. For now eat light and non spicy food substances.
