What Causes Loud Popping Sound In Back Followed By Pain?
I bent over while holding my 16 pound nephew last night and I heard a loud pop in my lower back. Since then I cannot stand up straight turn bend or anything. What could this be? I called my pain clinic because I am a patient due to chronic back pain and they told me to go the emergency room.
The most common cause of this type of pain is due to a misalignment in the back. This occurred when he heard the "pop". The joints became misaligned. As a result, this causes all sorts of strain on the bakc. It causes the muscles to pull tighter and it really hurts.
Since you are already a chronic backpain patient, please visit a chiropactor,A chiropractor would take a look at your back and diagnose the true cause. If it is a misalignment, he should be able to realign it.
As for what to do right now, Since this just happened, I would suggest you lying on ice packs for about 10-15 minutes at a time. Then wait about 1/2 hr and do it again.
Take complete rest and less work as this would aggravate the pain.
Wishing you good health!
