Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 60 year old women and my blood tests are normal except I have low DHEA and high cortisol. My hairline has started to recede. It has stopped growing. I don t see a lot of hair on the floor however. I have been on mixidil for 6months with little change. Can you suggest any blood tests that may find a cause? I know have been getting hives on my forehead.
High levels of cortisol, low levels of DHEA. The body cannot make enough DHEA to balance cortisol. This is the first sign of adrenal exhaustion. This is the first abnormal response to chronic stress.
Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
