found out was pregnant few weeks ago went for first scan didnt know hoow far along i was as have pcos and dont have periods very often. at the scan there was no sign of baby so dr thought i was either too early or else a missed miscarraige my hcg level was 24000 can back 2 days later and my hcg level was 20000 so have another scan in a week and then he is scheduling a d and c i am just wondering my iron levels were also taken and they were 1.1 could this have any affect on lowering my hcg levels or is there any hope i still might have a viable pregnancy
It is not clear why you say you are pregnant. Probably your urine pregnancy test could have been positive.
However, no baby seen in the uterus in the ultrasonography and the hCG levels are low, is suggesting that the pregnancy can be present somewhere outside the uterine cavity - most commonly in the tube (Ectopic Pregnancy).
In ectopic pregnancy the hCG levels are lower than the expected and hence the pregnancy test us week positive.
Please confirm/rule out ectopic pregnancy. Ruptured tubal pregnancy is a very serious condition, causes profuse bleeding in the abdomen and needs surgical intervention with blood transfusion. So you may suggest and request your Obstetrician to look for ectopic pregnancy.
It is said that an Obstetrician has to be ectopic minded to diagnose an ectopic pregnancy.
