What Causes Low TSH Level?

Hello! I just got a report back that shows my TSH level at .05 I have been taking Armour for many years to regulate my thyroid. It has never been this low before and the doctor wants to decrease my dosage. At the level of .05, is it possible that I no longer need medication? THanks for your help.

Hi welcome to health care magic...

I can understand your concern and question arise in your mind...

For hypothyroidism you are taking drug and with effect from its high dose you are having secondary hyperthyroid.... So your dose should have to be adjusted in past according to tsh level...

Anyway now dose should be reduced to control TSH level and than low dose maintainance dose should be continued...

Never stop drug.... Instead dose needs to be adjusted according to tsh level.

Hope this will help.

Take care
