General & Family Physician, Dr. Varinder's Response
Hi,
If at the time of start of thyroid her TSH was very high, then please half her dosage of thyroid medicine.
Then recheck TSH level from the same lab and at the same time of day after one month, then compare with present level. If she was hypothyroid at the start of thyroid therapy, the usual dosage is 1.5 micrograms per kg body weight.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
