General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Sometime post surgical lung atelectasis may cause low oxygen saturation though pulmonary embolism possibility or hospital acquired pneumonias should be ruled out with chest X-ray, EKG, echocardiogram as well as sepsis profile and D dimers.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
