Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Low Blood Sugar Level And Tiredness After Eating And Drinking?
Tired after eating and drinking any time of day. Diet: carbs & coffee. 65 yo white male. Recent blood work results (Sept this year): AC1: 61. Low levels of glucose. Lifestyle changes: sedentary, work at home, typically 12-14 hour days. Limited exercise since July.
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
Feeling fatigued and sleepy after a meal is not an uncommon reaction. Many people even expect their bodies to, in a sense, shut down after eating. Blood flow to the small intestine “dramatically increases” after a person eats. This effect may cause fatigue.
Hope my answer was helpful.
If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.
Kind regards!
