What Causes Low Cortisol Levels In Blood

i have nearly zero cortisol but none of the problems associated with the luck of it. if i didnt have a blood test i would never have known about it. repeated the tests frequently for the last 6 months and it is still nearly zero. Doctor said no need to take artificial cortisol if the lack of it causes no problems.

Hi welcome to health care magic ....

Here you are having lack of cortisol in blood ....
So deficit steroid in blood commonly due to lack of ability of adrenal gland to produce steroid hormone ...The disease known as Addison's disease ....

Steroid hormone necessary for maintainence of blood pressure , regulate sugar level and in response to stress ....

With the time you might develop low blood pressure , skin pigmentation ...so if needed hormone replacement given for that ...

ACTH stimulation test also needs to be done to confirm Addison disease ....

According to my opinion consult endocrinologist for detail work up for lack of cortisol and than subsequent management according to investigation.....

Hope your concern solved
