Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
44 yo female. Healthy. I am running a low grade fever 99.0-100.00 for almost 2 weeks. Had blood work Wednesday last week (CBC and SedRate). Doc was concerned that I had a post infectious issue going on due to diarrhea from the week before after trip to Mexico. No mosquito bites-so Zika is probably not an issue. WBC was normal, SedRate normal but RBC was low - was told was anemic (was on period at the time, but was not heavy) and may want to do more blood work today. Feeling very fatigued, joints ache, not much of an appetite and when I eat I get full quickly and cannot finish meal. I am very worried. Temp is currently 99.2 after being normal all morning to this point. Waiting on phone call back from doc office to see how they want to proceed. Any thoughts you have would be much appreciated.
It can be tuberculosis or some ricketsial infection. Get a blood culture and x-ray done and after that start antibiotic Doxycycline and wait for the report.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
