What Causes Low Grade Fever And Pain In The Balls Of The Feet?

my 7 year old son has been running a low grade fever for a week now after a bout with what I thought was a stomach bug. He has also been complaining of a weird pin prick pain accompanied by a cold feeling. Last night he also told us that the ball of his foot hurt. When I checked it out it looked swollen and felt hard to the touch. I am planning on having him seen by a dr, but our family pediatrician isn t in until after christmas. Im just looking for a dr s insight before getting him to her. Thanks

Hello,

Your son might be having the infection somewhere in the body causing him fever and as you say pain and swelling in the foot that says that there is the infection which might have happened. So you need to give him antibiotics full course dosage based on body weight to cure him.

Any antibiotic can be given with prescription. You can go to any general doctor for that for now rather pediatrician. Here I don't have rights to give you the prescription. Hope you understand the constraints of online consultation.
