What Causes Low Haemoglobin Level Along With Elevated Levels Of Neutrophils?
My father is 81yr old presented with fever for past one month. No significant finding on clinical examination. On inv haemoglobin is 7gm with microcytic hypochromic anaemia. TLCNormal but monocytes raised by 26% neutrophils 49 lymphocytes 21 all other inv normal please help

Low hemoglobin is due to stress of long standing fever, dietary deficiency caused by illness or may be side effect of antibiotics taken. Lymphocytes indicate long standing illness. Increased monocytes need to be scrutinized further by treating doctors opinion and needful further investigations.
