What Causes Low Platelet Count While On Methotrexate?
Hi Doctor My husband has been smoking for the past 40 years and still is. He is taking Methotrexate for the past 15 years for psoriasis. After a viral fever his platelets dropped to46. He immediately stopped methotrexate. He took some herbal medicine to increase his platelets.it went up to 260. It s been one month since he stopped methotrexate. Now his platelets are dropping gradually. it s 130 now. Please advice. Thank you.

It could be drug-induced thrombocytopenia. Consult a Hematologist and he will direct you accordingly.
