What Causes Low Sodium Levels In Body While Treating UTI?
I recently had an aggresive uti infection. When I went to the er they discovered i had low sodium levels. Is it possible the uti caused the low sodium? I have uti s before, but had no symptoms this time except my urine was a darkish shade of yellow. I had recently started taking a new rx and this was one of the side effects so I wasn t concerned
Brief answer: No , uti does not cause low sodium level.
Detailed answer. I had gone.through the question and understand your concern. See, uti and low sodium are unrelated , and the low sodium levl is probably because of some other thing. So , i would say , you should take medicines for uti like norflox-tz (antibiotic) and cital syrup (urine alkaliser). And then again get your sodium.level checked. If it comes low then you should consult your physician. Also you can increase intake of salt in your diet for the same. I hope this information helps. Thank you.
