Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently had lab work performed and my sodium level came back at 130. I do not drink either water or alcohol excessively. All my other vitals check out. I am over 60 and this is only the second time my sodium levels have come back under 135. I have read and talked to doctors in an effort to find out what may be causing this. So far nothing concrete. Any ideas.

* There can be various causes of low sodium as
- excess filtration at kidney level - low intake - use of diuretic as furosemide or thiazide for high BP or other purpose - excess perspiration - dehydration status with diarrhea, vomiting - systemic illness of various body organs
Thanks. Regards.
