Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Low Sperm On Ejaculation For A 61-year-old?
I am 61 years old and weigh about 220. I also exercise and my blood pressure runs 185/92 on a rushed day. My wife is a diabetic and we eat well. My problem is low sperm on ejaculation. I am thinking urethra blockage. My urine is steady. If I drink lightly before bedtime I usually don t have to get up. What do you suggest?
It doesn't indicate urethral blockage however prostatic enlargement should be ruled out. Baseline ultrasound KUB as well as prostate with pre and post void urinary volume may be done.
Sperm count may decrease with age, but transient causes like nutritional deficiencies should be ruled out. Selenium, zinc and calcium replacement may be started.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
