What Causes Low White Blood Cell Count In A 21-year-old Girl?
Hi, my niece is 21, perfectly healthy, and on a college dance team. Her bloodwork shows a low white blood cell count and she has not other symptoms. Her dr. is sending her a hemotologist oncologist to rule out leukemia. What are other possible causes of this?

It would have been better if you had mentioned the number of cells she has, leukemia is generally associated with low platelet count and low hemoglobin with either low or high WBC count I would think of leukemia at first instance as there are more than 50 causes of low WBC count.
