Hi, I am 36 yr Male. I recently noticed pain in left lower abdomen and thigh while sneezing. It doesnt hurt while coughing. If I sit or cross my legs while sneezing there is no pain. I play badminton daily. It doesnt hurt while playing and walking etc but yes If I try to do crunches, It hurts in the lower abdomen. Couple of days after this problem was noticed, I played some tournament and played too much for a day even then it didnt hurt. It hurts only while sneezing. Thanks in advance
Hi! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query. From your history, it seems that the pain is due to a muscle soreness which occurs in a particular position/stretching which might put more pulling of the affected muscle in that position. If I were your doctor, I would advise you for an anti inflammatory along with a proton pump inhibitor drug for a few days which should relieve you of the problem. However, a clinical examination with related investigations if any would be needed to label it as a muscular origin.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
