What Causes Lower Abdominal Bloating And Cramps In A Post Menopausal Woman?

I m a 58 yr old post menopausal woman. I m having lower abdominal cramping. Similar almost to menstrual cramps. I feel very bloated. A feeling of fullness. It s been growing in severity and I feel this way all the time. I went to the gyne and had an exam. She then sent me for a pelvic sonogram as well as a transvaginal. They were unable to see my left ovary, however no masses etc were seen on my right ovary or uterus. I m worried and scared. I have a large family history of cancer including breast and ovarian. Is there other ailments this could be indicative of? And would you recommend a laparoscopy? My discomfort is getting worse.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Having abdominal cramps can't be said if there is a certain pathology. You should get further evaluated doing an abdominal ultrasound and stool test. Also you may need to do PAP smear.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
