What Causes Lower Abdominal Cramps Post Copper IUD Insertion?

Hi,I got the copper IUD 3 days ago, im really paranoid and i was wondering, what are the warning signs of my body rejecting it? And also, are random cramps normal? I feel like the cramps are coming from my cervix at times.. and what is.considered as the string being too long? I feel it being, about 3cm out if my cervix. Is that normal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear.
Understand your concerns.
yes dear,it is normal.
It is just side effects of copper T.
Don't get tense, it will disappear in 8-10 days.
In beginning, body take some times for adjusting,& length of strings are also normal. You feel it means it's sure that copper T is not misplaced.
if you feel more cramps then take TAB.MEFTALSPAS two times a day for 3-5 days, drink more water & take rest.
If you feel that it's become worse and not resolves, then consultant gynecologists for vaginal examination.
I hope it will help you.
Thanks.
