Pain/ache in lower abdomen for several days. was using metformin temporarily due to a high sugar level found during annual physical. Stopped the Metformin 3 days ago because of med. info. sheet precautions. am going to try and see my Med. Hello,

Low abdominal pain is a rare side effect of Metformin but it is a possible one. On the other hand, there are other causes of the pain as well and that need to be considered and ruled out.
If the pain is not that severe, you may choose to wait a few days and see the doctor when you have already booked an appointment (on Monday). If the pain is getting worse you will need to see the doctor as soon as possible and in this case, the ER is the better course.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
