What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain And Severe Bleeding After Taking Amoxicillin?
Hello and thank you in advance for answering my question. 3 days ago I started taking amoxicillin for a bacterial infection. The same morning I had extreme pain in my lower abdomen followed by a lot of blood. Since I had my period last weekend I thought it was part of it. But since then I ve been bleeding on and off. Also I have a sharp pain in my lower left abdomen. Especially when I cough it gets worse. I had some tissue like discharge as well and this morning after having a deep red discharge, it turned light brownish. I m not in the country right now, but flying back on Sunday. Do I need to seek care here or can I wait for next week? Thank you so much
There can be issue of flare up of underlying diverticulitis, altered gut flora homeostasis or else after the intake of amoxicillin capsule. Kindly stop further doses of amoxicillin and consult your doc office for further guidelines.
