What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain, Bloating, Headache And Drowsiness?

I have frequent lower abdominal pain, hip to hip below the navel. ( had an ovary burst / bleed apx. 35 years ago, the pain is below the surgical scar) This started with sever headaches, low energy, to extreme drowsiness, extreme bloating, & belly fat (never had before - extra weight in thighs/butt) about 2 years ago. The headaches and drowsiness have decreased significantly. Bloating freqency comes and goes, when it is occurring to others it is like watching someone blow up a ballon. I reciently had a x-ray. The dr thought it might be kidney or gallstones. The x-ray report stated I have an enlarged liver. The Dr. ordered an MRI, her nurse left a message insurance will not cover. My blood work appears normal, per 2 Dr s, cholesterol is high 239 total, triglycerides 78, HDL 82, LDL 141. Bilirubin negative . Coming down. Not by statins, niacin. No blood in stool. The pain can last for days. Tumeric Tea ( H 2 O, coconut milk, raw honey, ghee & Tumeric warmed) reduces or completely relieves the pain. If I do not drink it everyday (travel), the pain returns. Female, 65 this month, about 25 pounds overweight, smoker 1/2 pack day, regular exercise, 10 - 30 glasses of wine per year., no pop, drink water, ice tea and coffee. Thank you

Hi,

A certain degree of bloating is normal but in case of excessive bloating, it may be a sign of food allergy, hiatal hernia, IBS or inflammatory bowel diseases.

So you should do gastroenterology work up but first try to change your dietary habits, it means: eat smaller meals but more frequently, avoid fried and spicy food, take menta tea, avoid alcohol and coffee, eat probiotics and milk products, boiled food and vegetables.

Also, there are medications such as Flobian, Magnesium oxide or certain Laxatives which may relieve such symptoms of this continue.

If there is no improvement on these measures, you should consider doing diagnostic tests such as colonoscopy, anal sphincter manometry and food allergy testing.
