What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain Immediately After Eating Food?

I am having pain in my lower abdomen especially immediately after eating. This morning I had a toast and coffee with milk and felt a little discomfort. An hour later I had an egg mcmuffin and had a very strong pain. A zantac helped a little. This is happening after two days in the hospital where a CT scan of the abdomen was done as well as blood tests which were normal. I am Also dealing with constipation and diahrea. I have had no fever.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Pain after food may indicate peptic ulcer disease or gastritis. This is good that CT is normal. I would suggest you should take some antacids like Gaviscon 3 times and omeprazole once a day for 2 weeks.

Avoid spicy and pickled food. Also avoid painkillers, too much alcohol and smoking. I hope it would be better in little time. See your Dr if didn't improve with it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
