HI Dr, I did my 3rd IUI last Tuesday, 29th Nov after which i was having severe lower abdomen pain the next day and the following 3 days. I have checked with my gyny and he said it could be because im ovulating and the eggs might be growing. But until today, I cant move faster as i get pain on my below abdomen once in a while.... is that normal? ON top of this issue, i ve got this very bad rashes around my belly & stomach... is that normal too?
It is not uncommon to experience the pain of low to moderate grade in post IUI period which as told by your treating doctor is caused by ovarian hyperstimulation.
The procedure is safe, but in some cases, patients experience mild to life-threatening allergies.
It is necessary for you to visit a hospital or inform your treating doctor at the earliest about the rash as it is likely to be an allergy due to IUI.
If your allergic to antibiotics like Penicillin or any other medication inform the hospital or treating doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ayesha Shareef, General & Family Physician
