What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain When Suffering From Endometriosis?
I have endometriosis . I experience very painful periods. I started my period three days ago, and yesterday i started having extreme pain in my lower abdomen. I am afraid being so I had a tubal ligation three years ago, that I may have an ectopic pregnancy. I don t have health insurance and Im not sure if I should go to the emergency room or not
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Endometriosis is associated with severe pain in lower abdomen during menstruation, known as congestive dysmenorrhea. It is due to severe adhesions and chemicals secreted by endometriotic implants or due to endometriotic cyst. Ectopic pregnancy is highly unlikely if you had a previous tubal ligation, and moreover you are having your periods. I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated and treated accordingly. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. DrDeepti Verma
