What Causes Lower Abdominal Tenderness, Bloating And Occasional Diarrhea?

i have been having generalized lower abd tenderness, gas and bloating, occasional diarrhea of and on the past week. Today the pain has become more localized to my left lower quadrant and is tender to palpation. I know have a low grade temp. Should I consider this an emergent issue or can I monitor my symptoms until I see my doc on Thursday?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, it seems like symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome but any local stomach or intestinal infection should be ruled out.

You can use antacids like omerperazole before meals alongwith motilly agents like domperidone or itapride before meals for symptomatic relief.

Meanwhile if any loose motions or altered GI habits persists may need stool analysis and gastroenterologist review.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin
