What Causes Lower Back Pain After Recovering From Influenza?

I got the flu a month ago and since then I ve had lower back pain. The pain is dull and achy but can be sharp when first standing up from the seated position or from laying down. I know that I need a new mattress. Could my bed be the cause of this issue?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Flu itself can cause muscular weakness. Rest/massage with muscle relaxant/calcium & vitamin D supplement/high protein diet would help. Bonny weakness due to degenerative process (constant stress to spine with lying in wrong position would aggravate the symptoms) can cause spondylitis in lumber spine to cause such symptoms. Need examination by orthopedic doctor & MRI to confirm. Followed by needful treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
