What Causes Lower Back Pain Along With Numbness In The Legs?
I have had lower back trauma in the past. Within the last year or so when sitting down over 5 minutes when I get up my legs are numb and I have to concentrate to be able to maintain myself. Basically my legs feel like there spaghetti. Now within the past month or so I have had really bad pain build up it seems like on my sides adjacent to my lower back, the pain decreases to being more tolerable with ibuprofen but it s only temporary. Do you have any clue what this might be. To me it seems that this is something very serious.
Though symptomatic relief from pain can be obtained with analgesics like Ibuprofen, the underlying cause needs to be treated.
Considering the fact that you had a lower back trauma in the past and it gets aggravated on getting up from sitting position, it can be attributed to para-spinal spasm and entrapment of nerve fibres at the lower spinal region.
Kindly consult a Neurologist & get a complete Neurological examination done. Certain investigations like X-ray & MRI of the lumbosacral spine can also be carried out to detect any nerve entrapment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
