Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Lower Back Pain And Lower Abdominal Pain After Menopause?
lower abdominal pain I am 53 years old female. been having pains in my lower abdomen. and lower back.sometimes I can t bend down very well. av been drinking heavily. I am also menopausal. av been told by doctors before now that I have fibroids but there were in small clusters.
In my opinion, the pain sees to be related to fibroids. After menopause, fibroids commonly regress because of the reduced levels of estrogen and progesterone.
Posterior fibroids can cause lower back pain. Those found in the broad ligament may cause unilateral lower abdominal pain or may compress the sciatic nerve.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
