What Causes Lower Back Pain And Nausea After An Injury?

I was hit in the face by a football. I blacked out but as I went down heard a sickening crack .I got up and had no facial pain but a lower back pain which is relieved by painkillers but returns as the day goes on and first thing in the morning.I also keep feeling nauseous after eating.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The back ache can be due to some vertebral cause need to get investigated by imaging investigation. The late nausea may be sign of jolt to brain (concussion) or may be some vestibular damage. This too needs to be confirmed by consultation of neurophysician followed by specific management.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
