What Causes Lower Back Pain, Dizziness, Swollen Pelvic Area And Heavy Periods?

I have currently been menstruating for 8 days. I am having very heavy bleeding that requires me to change my sanitary napkin every hour or so. I am suffering from lower back pain, extreme dizziness, and swollen pelvic area. I feel extremely nauseated and have diarrhea. I am not insured because I am a recent college graduate. It concerns me to go to the emergency room, if they can not help me. However, being a healthy 27 year old, I feel that something is seriously wrong. What should I do?

Hello,

The menstrual phase in period can vary from 3 to 7 days, however, a recent change in the duration or amount of flow of blood is a cause of concern. There can be various reasons for that like hormonal imbalances, infection, tumor, vascular malformations etc. You need to show up to a gynecologist as soon as possible.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
